Setup Narrative
King Donut has sent Sir Staples and the Dart Knights out for food for the feast. He expects they return with enough meat to feed the dart community for the celebration.
The woods outside the castle have many dangers including a sneaky rabid fox who lurks about. The Dart Knights set out on their long journey but lo and behold become easily distracted. They see hoof prints of the elusive Legendary Buck.
King Donut would surely be pleased with the buck as a trophy, but this distracts them from their main quest.
Will the Dart Knights return alive?
Will they return with meat for the feast?
And will they capture the Legendary Buck?
II
How many knights ride out?
| Players | Darts | Turns Each |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 6 darts | 2 turns |
| 3 | 3 darts | 1 turn |
| 4 | 3 darts | 1 turn |
Game Modes
Team vs Team — Dart night, 2–4 per team, parallel quests
Head to Head — 1v1 or 2v2, straight up
Full Camaraderie — Solo or co-op for the leaderboard
Players decide throwing order by Dart House Rules.
III
Turn structure — based on standard Cricket
One turn on each number. The path through the woods:
Side quest windows open after 19, after 17, and after 15. The party chooses whether to take the detour or press on.
IV
Four columns tracked in chalk

Side quests are written in chalk between the numbers — just like the real board.
V
Feed the feast — works like Cricket
Close a number first (3 hits), then every extra hit earns meat for the feast. Doubles count as 2 hits, triples as 3.
| Number | Close | Extra Hits |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | 3 hits | +20 lbs per extra |
| 19 | 3 hits | +19 lbs per extra |
| 18 | 3 hits | +18 lbs per extra |
| 17 | 3 hits | +17 lbs per extra |
| 16 | 3 hits | +16 lbs per extra |
| 15 | 3 hits | +15 lbs per extra |
Bullseye is NOT used for meat — it's reserved for the Legendary Buck shootoff only.
VI
Threat Meter — she lurks in the woods
The fox watches from the shadows. Poor throwing attracts her. Easy Mode: 3 threat marks = fox spawns.
| Party Hits | Threat Marks |
|---|---|
| 0 hits (everyone whiffs) | Auto spawn — ALL companions |
| 1 hit | +2 marks |
| 2 hits | +1 mark |
| 3+ hits (closed) | 0 marks |
The Donut Rule: If an individual player scores 0 marks on a number, the fox auto-spawns for that player alone. Face her immediately.
Hard Mode — every miss = 1 mark, 6 marks = spawn.
VII
Hit 1 → 2 → 3 — in order
When the fox spawns, the party chooses one companion to face her. Three chances. One dart at each number:
0 Hits
Companion dies — out of the game
1–2 Hits
Fox retreats to the woods. She may return...
Triple on 1, 2, or 3
Companion dies — the fox was too strong
Hit 1, 2, AND 3
Fox killed! Earn Magic Darts
VIII
Rewards and detours
Magic Darts — earned by killing the fox. Choose ONE:
Resurrect Companion — shoot to bring back a dead party member
Bonus Meat — extra throw at 20 for more meat
Legendary Buck Clue — one throw at bullseye for a clue check
Side Quests — tracking the Buck
Cost: 10 lbs meat per companion who goes. Companions rotate shooting at 6 and 11. Each hit = 1 clue. 3 clues = Legendary Buck unlocked.
In Vs Mode, each extra clue close beyond the first: −1 bullseye your team needs, +1 bullseye your opponent needs.
IX
The shootoff — if you've earned it
Unlocked by: 3 clues from side quests.
The shootoff: Teams shoot at bullseye to close (3 hits).
Default: 3 bullseyes (1 close) to kill the Legendary Buck.
Victory Conditions — Tiered
Survive. Return alive from the woods.
Return with meat for the feast. King Donut is pleased.
Kill the Legendary Buck. Eternal glory.
What Do You Throw?
It's the last side quest window. You have 2 clues, 30 lbs of meat, and 2 threat marks. One companion is dead. Do you enter the side quest or press on to Bull?
