Scroll for kickoff โ
I
The board has always been a pitch โ twenty numbers, two goals, and nobody noticed.
The 20 is one goal. The 3 is the other. The 11 and 6 are the midfield line, and crossing it carelessly has consequences.
Two halves, switch ends at halftime. Most goals at full time wins.
II
Two goals, two halves, one board
| Element | Rule |
|---|---|
| Goals | 20 (top) ยท 3 (bottom) |
| Midfield line | 11 and 6 |
| Halves | 4 minutes each (group play) ยท 5 minutes (knockout) + stoppage time |
| Kickoff | Closest to bull is the coin toss. Winner chooses which end to attack OR takes kickoff. |
III
Two wings to every goal
| Attacking | Left Wing | Right Wing |
|---|---|---|
| The 20 | 14 โ 9 โ 12 โ 5 | 13 โ 4 โ 18 โ 1 |
| The 3 | 8 โ 16 โ 7 โ 19 | 10 โ 15 โ 2 โ 17 |
Work down a wing, then shoot on the goal number.
From midfield, either wing. Once you hit on one side, you stay on that side until possession changes or play returns to midfield.
IV
Singles move the ball. Doubles move it faster.
| Dart | Result |
|---|---|
| Single | A pass to the next number in the lane |
| Double | Long pass โ advance two positions |
| Triple | Advance three (T14 puts the ball on the 5) |
| Stray dart | Other numbers (not 11, 6, or bull): nothing happens โ keep throwing at your target |
Magic Feet โฆ
Hit your target with all three darts โ take another turn immediately.
V
The ball doesn't reset. It sits where you left it.
At the end of your turn, the ball sits at the last lane number you hit. Your opponent must hit that number first, then work back the other way.
You hit 14 then 9 โ they need 9, then 14, and onward.
At midfield, the player in possession may choose either wing โ the switch of fields.
VI
A dart off the board is a dead ball
Your turn ends immediately, darts in hand or not.
Throw-In
Out beside the sidelines (near 7โ12 left, 18โ2 right): opponent plays from the last number hit.
Goal Kick
Attacker misses past the end line they're attacking (near 5/20/1 top, 19/3/17 bottom): defender restarts. Short: hit a number beside your own goal (defending the 20: the 5 or 1) and pass out toward midfield โ risky, your opponent starts wherever you leave it. Long ball: throw beyond midfield; defending the 20, hitting 8โ7 left or 10โ2 right connects the long pass, play from there. Too deep (19/3/17) = turnover.
Corner Kick
Defender puts it out over their own end line: attacker restarts. First dart aims at the goal; play continues wherever it lands. Hitting the goal number = shot on goal (follow-up still required).
Every restart: wherever the first dart lands is where play lives.
VII
The 11 and 6 are watching. So is the referee.
Hit an 11 or 6, any time: foul. Possession over.
Yellow Card
Double 11 or double 6.
Red Card
Triple 11 or triple 6.
Two yellows or one red: lose a dart for the rest of the match (two darts a turn). A second red: one dart.
An accidental bullseye on your turn is an own goal. The board keeps score of hubris.
VIII
One dart to shoot. One dart to finish.
First hit of the goal number = shot on goal. Second hit, same turn = GOAL.
Double or triple of the goal number = GOAL, no follow-up needed.
The Save
Shot lands on your last dart? Defender can save: goal number with their first dart, then pass out either side (defending the 3: left 19 โ 7 โ 16 โ 8 or right 17 โ 2 โ 15 โ 10).
After a goal, the team scored on restarts at midfield.
IX
And if it's level when the whistle blows โ
Tied in knockout: extra time, two 1-minute halves, switch ends.
The Shootout
Still tied: closest to bull picks the goal (20 or 3). Three darts each at that number โ singles 1, doubles 2, triples 3 (T20 + S20 + miss = 4). Tied: sudden death, one dart each.
Pace of play is legal strategy. Throw faster, get more turns.

Yet to Be Revealed โ Penalty Kicks
There are fouls. There are cards. But a penalty kick in open play? WODA Labs is still on the training ground.
XI
What Do You Do?
Down a goal. Forty seconds on the clock. The ball's at midfield. Your left wing has been money all night โ but your opponent is parked on it, and the right wing is wide open.
You trust the arm. 14, then 9 โ two passes deep, but your last dart rims out of the 12. Your opponent needs 9-then-14 to march it back, and the clock is your enemy now. You've left them a ladder โ but they have to climb it in forty seconds.
You go right. The 13 lands. The 4 lands. The 18 โ off the wire, out past the 1. Corner to youโฆ if there were time. Full time looms. You gambled on fresh grass and nearly found the goal.
The referee checks his watch.
